Celebration Central! It was celebration central this past Sunday at Erickson Covenant. Baptisms, communion, and potluck! Who knew church could be this much fun!? 😉 Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy. (Psalm 33:3) Our worship team leads us as we sing to our good God! We learn in community, with Tom leading us through the good news story of Mark. The beautiful day of baptism. Celebrating our life in Jesus, following him as he leads. God bless you, Morgan! “We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” (Romans 6:4) We do not follow Jesus alone. We stand with each other and for each other in the Jesus way. The glory of new birth. Jim, we love you and walk with you in this kingdom life. “Blessed are those whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed are those whose sin the Lord does not count against them and in whose spirit there is no deceit.” (Psalm 32:1-2, Sylvie’s verse for the day) Sylvie, we love you and support you in your journey with Jesus. Thank you for being part of our community! Together, we follow. The Whitwell family, with mom and dad baptized, were dedicated to the Lord. As a family of faith, we pray, encourage and support one another in the spiritual flourishing of our families. May God’s goodness fill this family! (We gave them The Jesus Storybook Bible as a gift.) Jesus continues to eat with sinners (Mark 2:15). All are invited to join him at his table. My heart, O God, is steadfast,my heart is steadfast;I will sing and make music.Awake, my soul!Awake, harp and lyre!I will awaken the dawn. (Psalm 57:7-8) A song to our strong God!a shout to the God of Jacob!Anthems from the choir, music from the band, sweet sounds from lute and harp,Trumpets and trombones and horns:it’s festival day, a feast to God! (Psalm 81 Message) Listen to me, listen well: Eat only the best, fill yourself with only the finest.Pay attention, come close now, listen carefully to my life-giving, life-nourishing words. (Isaiah 55 Message) Hey there! All who are thirsty, come to the water! Are you penniless?Come anyway—buy and eat!Come, buy your drinks, buy wine and milk.Buy without money—everything’s free! Why do you spend your money on junk food, your hard-earned cash on cotton candy? (Isaiah 55 Message) Continuing in communion at potluck! Is there anything better than that? What a bounty of food and friends. A beautiful cake celebrating our baptisms. Coming through the water into new life. Someone likes potlucks (especially the dessert table!) Laughter fills the room as friendships are nourished at the table. The beauty of God’s grace abundantly shines. So thankful. Oh, the joy! The great delight! The most difficult decision is what to leave behind . . . Yes, it’s just THAT good. There’s no laughter quite like Rhonda’s at the sink 🙂 We are so blessed by the community God is creating among us. May we continue to be a blessing to our valley and our world. God, thanks for the great day!!
